We Create Content has teamed up with British University Vietnam (BUV) to produce Content Kings – an internship programme with a twist, that will see four students go head-to-head to work on a real client pitch and result in one student winning a job.
Content Kings, which has been documented in a four part mini video series released on We Create Content’s YouTube channel today, began in May 2020 with guest workshops at BUV’s state-of-the-art campus in Ecopark.
The three month process set out to give four BUV students hands-on experiences of content agency life, and the chance to win paid work as the global economy enters a downturn during the global COVID-19 pandemic.
“It was by winning a competition like this that landed me my first ever job in London during the financial crash of 2008,” said cofounder of We Create Content Ian Paynton, of his first job at Haymarket Media Group. “My career was kickstarted while other just-as-qualified media students found themselves working at Starbucks,” he added.
“As the global economy is tested once again in 2020 and jobs are becoming more limited, it seemed like a great opportunity to use my personal experience forward to the talented students in northern Vietnam,” said Ian.
“British University Vietnam provides students with the opportunities to apply their academic knowledge taught in university to real-world problems and corporate issues,” added Ta Ha Lan, Senior Manager, Student Experience, Placements and Alumni, British University Vietnam.
“So we appreciate We Create Content’s cooperation in providing our students with their expertise training and get them to work on their client’s projects. We believe with the variety of activities we do with corporate partners, we together can make BUV students a new generation of talented explorers and creative thinkers for Vietnam.”
The live content marketing pitch that the students are currently working on is for Boo, and its experimental streetwear brand BOO LAAB.
The four part mini documentary series can be followed on We Create Content’s social media pages during the next four weeks.
