BritCham Exclusive Guideline for Entry to Vietnam

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected countries and territories around the world. Government of Vietnam has adopted resolute and pragmatic measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic, making Vietnam one of the safest destinations in the world at this moment. Vietnam has also remained focused on supporting continuation of business activities.

The National Steering Committee has requested People’s Committees of cities and provinces to oversee local implementation of processes to facilitate and to support foreign investors, technical experts, highly skilled workers, and entrepreneur managers to enter Vietnam to work.

Step 1: People’s Committees of cities and provinces have decided and appointed contact offices to provide guidance & receive the application for permission to enter.  British experts and high-skilled workers are advised to contact your organisations in Vietnam to prepare and submit an application on your behalf (The UK Embassy, Consulate and BritCham cannot submit applications on behalf of companies or individuals). After preliminary review at this step, successful applications will be advanced to step 2.  If your organization does not have the necessary information, please contact the People’s Committees of your city or province to receive the information of the appointed contact office and guidance documents as mentioned (OL2847 by NATIONAL STEERING COMMITTEE FOR COVID-19 PREVENTION AND CONTROL dated May 23rd 2020) {Link}

Step 2: People’s Committee of cities and provinces will assess your application. Upon approval at this step, your organisation will receive a written notice from People’s Committee.

Step 3: As provided in the document from People’s Committees, your organisation will receive the instructions from Immigration Department and Department of Health with the regards to Entry and Quarantine. Please note that the Vietnamese authority will proceed with each application on a case-by-case basis. We recommend that you comply with the Entry and Quarantine instructions provided.

It is important to note that companies must sponsor all applications for workers seeking to enter VN, and 14-day quarantine remains mandatory in all cases. Companies must provide travel & quarantine arrangements with the relevant provincial authority ahead of workers’ entry.
