On 12th and  13th October, the British Consulate General and the BBGV Business Centre had an official visit to Danang City. During the trip, the delegates met with the Vice Chairman for Da Nang People Committee, the Da Nang External Relationship Office; the Department of Planning and Investment,  International Promotion Centre, Department  of Culture, Sports & Tourism and the VCCI in Da Nang.

Douglas Barnes, HM Consul General, expressed that the UK recognises Vietnam as an important partner and this message was reinforced especially after the UK Prime Minister’s first visit to Vietnam in July this year. He emphasised that Da Nang is considered as a key city of the central economic zone of Vietnam with consistent GDP growth rate of about 10% over the past 10 years. With the announcement of the Round the World Clipper Race coming to Da Nang for a week of festivities in February 2016, Douglas hopes to take this opportunity to connect more business between Vietnam and UK.
