Both the Hanoi and HCMC offices of the BBGV worked as a team together to coordinate a visit by GEMS Education to the country. We had a very well-arranged programme, and in addition they sourced a driver and car for us (much less expensive than hiring one from our hotel!). All the companies we met had been warmed up by the BBGV and they had already seen our presentation, which meant we could use the valuable time at each meeting having more substantive discussions. Both Dung and An displayed a good knowledge of our company and what we were looking for and were happy to contribute to discussions where they could add value, and, of course, assist with translation. We felt we made an important breakthrough on this visit, and, in fact, our most senior executive is back in Vietnam today to follow up on a specific commercial opportunity that arose from one of these meetings. The most memorable moment, though, of course, was taking part in the BBGV fun run at the beginning of the week! Despite being overseas I do feel that we are part of the BBGV community, and where possible will try to schedule our visits when BBGV networking events are taking place.
