Chris is Dean of the British University Vietnam, based in Hanoi. Prior to taking up the role in 2010, he was a senior teaching fellow at Cass Business School London where he taught for 15 years, specializing in Emerging Markets (Vietnam, Russia, Brazil, Argentina and China) as well as Customer Service and Satisfaction. He was also Director of the Executive MBA Programme which was taught in London, Dubai and China.
Chris is also BBGV representative and Board Member of the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF).
Alex is Managing Director of ECCO Vietnam Ltd and is responsible for the production operations of the Danish brand in Vietnam.
Having joined ECCO in 2016 following an 8 year stint as founder of a sustainable fashion garment manufacturer in Northern Vietnam.
Alex has a broad range of experience at Managing Director level in the fashion and footwear sector along with turn-key project completion, supply chain management and stakeholder communication. Alex has a pan-European/Asian background having been born and raised in Switzerland and lived in the UK, Spain and for the past 10 years in Vietnam. Alex is married with 1 daughter.
Ms. Judith Henry has 17 years’ experience in professional services firms and multi-national companies.
In current role at PwC Judith is responsible for representing PwC in the local market, developing relationships with people working in finance and using those relationships to win work for PwC. Her experience of doing this in the Ho Chi Minh market makes her well suited to a role with BBGV, which requires her to drive and promote Vietnam-UK investment.
As the strategic partnership between the UK and Vietnam marks its 10th anniversary, she is looking forward to working as part of BBGV to support their initiatives that will continue to strengthen this important alliance.
Her professional background and previous experience of running a charity in the UK make her suited to contributing to the Charity, Finance and Events sub-committees.
Rick Yvanovich FCMA CGMA FCPA MSc
Entrepreneur, Techie, Brit, baby boomer. He’s worked for 30 years in: supermarkets, accounting profession, breweries, newsagents, defence manufacturing, IT, property development and BP, in the UK, China, Singapore, Switzerland and Vietnam.
Posted to China as Finance Manager with BP, in 1990 he relocated to Vietnam likely making him the longest Brit in Vietnam and probably the first Management Accountant and CIMA member too. In 1994 he founded TRG a tech company, with a vision of making your business shine by
providing stuff that works. It’s working as it’s still going and taken him to 39 of the 80 countries where TRG’s customers are. Another venture, expanded the vision to making you and your
business shine; enabling people to be the best that they can be.
Active on the tech start-up scene he’s co-founder of multiple tech start-ups and mentor / coach / investor to many others across UK, Europe and Asia.

Kenneth M Atkinson
Ken Atkinson started his career in international banking and after 14 years, including assignments in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, he set up his own consultancy business, which became Grant Thornton Vietnam.
With over 40 years emerging market experience and 38 years Asian experience, Ken has undertaken corporate finance transactions in many emerging markets worldwide (Eastern Europe, the People’s Republic of China and several other countries in South East Asia).
Ken has been working almost exclusively in Vietnam, Cambodia and Lao PDR during the last 27 years. His work has included financial advisory, transaction support, appraisal of large projects, and capacity building projects funded by multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors.
He has broad experience in advising Clients including commercial banks on project appraisal, debt finance, loan restructuring and equity funding.

Nitin has over 20 years of extensive experience combined with strong commercial awareness and business leadership skills across Finance, HealthCare and Pharmaceutical industries. Nitin joined AstraZeneca UK in 2011 and led several strategic Global and Regional roles to drive commercial model change and enhanced healthcare solutions with multiple markets across Asia-Pac, EMEA and the Americas.
Before moving to Vietnam in 2018, Nitin was based in Shanghai- China (2014- 2018) where he focused on expanding patient access, developing and deploying innovative healthcare solutions, led Strategy and Planning, Marketing and Sales Excellence, and Project Management Office. In his current role, Nitin is Company President for Vietnam & Frontier Markets (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Maldives, Myanmar, Sri Lanka) and responsible for business, innovation, expansion and partnerships.
He is based with his family in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam. Nitin holds a degree in commerce, MBA-International Trade and professional qualifications in Six Sigma, Oncology Master Class-Gustave Roussy France, Avaya-CRM, COPC, Script Writing, eRelationship Marketing, Project Management and Digital Marketing by Square-Google.
Richard is an Executive Director of CBRE and has lived with his family in Hanoi since 2003. He currently focusses his attention on developing Advantage Property Services which is the owning entity of the CBRE Cambodia office as well as creating opportunities for Clients in the property sector in the Indochina region which includes Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
Over the last 25 years, Richard has been responsible for the development, leasing and management of many significant retail/commercial real estate projects in Southern Africa, and more recently in SE Asia. He became a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors six years ago and is Vietnam’s representative and “Country Champion” for the International Council of Shopping Centre. A seasoned speaker at numerous retail conferences and property market updates, Richard also trains brokerage team on behalf of Clients and the Shopping Centre Industry.
As Marketing Manager at British International School, HCMC, I have worked closely with the BBGV for two years. During that period I have developed positive relationships with a number of business leaders and board members. I am a regular attendee at BBGV events and thoroughly look forward to key gatherings throughout the year, especially the Family Fun Run – an event that our school community has enjoyed together for many years.
Living in Vietnam for nearly six years, Ho Chi Minh is a city that I love to call home. Before that, I lived and worked in the United Kingdom, graduating from Newcastle University Law School in 2005. Since moving to Vietnam, I have worked mostly in business development and digital marketing, accumulating experience in a number of areas such as; website build, optimisation and management, social media, and data analytics.
In my spare time I enjoy playing team sports, particularly basketball (despite my height), reading a good crime thriller and scuba diving.
Mark Sayer (MA Cantab)
Mark is the Founding Principal of The British Vietnamese International School, Hanoi. He arrived in Vietnam in April 2013 with the school opening in August of the same year. He is widely experienced in education and educational management and leadership, having had a previous headship in the UK from 2008. His experience ranges from Early Years to High School (students aged 2 to 18).
Prior to embarking on a career in education, Mark had careers in accountancy, marketing advertising, business development: skills which are of great value now in the delivery of outstanding education for students in Hanoi.
His current staff team is over 230 strong and he specializes in professional development, curriculum planning, finance, marketing and branding.
Bill is the Managing Director of Coats Phong Phu, and has been employed by Coats Group plc, a UK based FTSE 250 company, since November 2010. He received a degree in chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, and prior to his employment at Coats spent 24 years working in the textile and chemical industry with Milliken & Co. There he specialized in plastics and plastic applications areas, working extensively in the commercial arena in the USA and abroad. He has extensive experience managing diverse, multicultural teams and specific expertise in change management, building corporate culture, empowerment and teamwork, manufacturing productivity, and compliance. In the last 23 years, he has worked and lived throughout Asia and lived in Ho Chi Minh City for 7 years.
Matthew Powell (BSc MRICS)
Matt is the head of the Hanoi and Danang offices at Savills Vietnam, covering the North and Central regions. He joined Savills in 2004 to head the Office Agency team in Hanoi. Matt became a Director of Savills Vietnam in 2009 after setting up the Residential Development Sales business from 2007. He now oversees Hanoi and Danang operations with over 500 team members across all consultancy, agency, property management and investment business lines.
Matt specializes in significant development projects providing consultancy, agency and strategic advice across both the residential, hospitality and commercial sectors; and working with investors for commercial and residential investment transactions. With over 15 years’ experience in the Vietnam real estate market, Matt’s clients include some of the largest domestic and international real estate players.
Colin Terry has been living and working in Asia for almost 30 years and joined the Jardine Matheson Group in 1992. He has held a number of different financial and executive board level leadership roles within Jardines across a range of industries, including insurance, technology and manufacturing, and he is currently the Finance Director of Siam City Cement (Vietnam) Ltd. He has also previously served for several years as an advisor to a charitable organization.
Colin is originally from England, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He is based in Ho Chi Minh city.
