BBGV sponsored 7 computer and flat screens for the computer workshop for the Ben San Leprosy Treatment Centre in Binh Duong. The first computer workshop was started this month aiming at helping the students get IT knowledge and to catch up with the accelerating pace of education. The IT teacher is Mr Hieu – who is currently the accountant of the centre. Ben San Centre was managed by the Health Department of HCMC since 1976. The Centre occupies 94 km2 with more than 150 households, 245 in-patient beds, operating room, lab, pharmacy, and the kitchen which provides meals for the patients. The main task of the centre is to help the patients and their children prevent infection, giving the best possible treatment, and rehabilitation. Also, the centre gives them the encouragement and opportunity to support themselves and contribute to the society. Only the patients who were detected late or lack of treatment will suffer from disabilities. Leprosy is easily cured if being detected early and treat correctly.
